The Role

Alveo (formerly known as Asset Control) has a very strong reputation within financial data management and supports a global client base of the world’s leading financial institutions. We are searching for a Software Engineer with a strong knowledge of Java technologies and JavaScript, to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating/maintaining back-end services and web app. Alveo adopts Agile (SCRUM) Software development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The design, estimation and implementation of new features and components, ensuring compliance with Alveo standards and guidelines
  • Ensuring that maintenance and bug fixing activities on production code are done in a most efficient and customer aware way

Skills

We are looking for someone who has the following experience:

  • Several years of professional experience as a software developer
  • Understanding of full product development life cycle
  • Knowledge of the Java programming language (3+ years) is required
  • Extensive experience with SQL databases (3+ years)
  • Experience with multiple virtualization solutions
  • Knowledge of Play framework is beneficial
  • Knowledge of React is beneficial

Qualifications and Training

For this position you require:

  • To be educated to degree standard ideally in computer science (e.g. BSc, MSc) or similar appropriate education/experience
  • Good command of English, both verbally and written
