The Role

Alveo (formerly known as Asset Control) has a very strong reputation within financial data management and supports a global client base of the world’s leading financial institutions.
We are searching for an experienced Java/C++ software developer to join the Back-End team. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Prime, a collection of multi-threaded enterprise application servers combined with several auxiliary tools, and OPS360-BE, a collection of Micro Services that support our Micro Front-End Web UI framework. The aim is to provide highly reliable, high-performance data-management solutions targeting banks and financial institutions. Our technology-stack is diverse and includes: Oracle, Postgres, Java, C++, Casandra, Kafka, Docker etc.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Implement, test and deliver software
  • Ensure that maintenance and bug fixing activities on production code are done in a most efficient way
  • Provide third-level product support
  • Collaborate effectively with the other team members

Experience and Skills

We are looking for someone who has the following technical experience and knowledge:

Required experience

  • Professional experience developing software for enterprise applications (3+ years)
  • Java (2+ years)
  • C/C++ (2+ years)
  • Software development on Unix/Linux
  • Relational Databases (like Oracle, Postgres)
  • Multi-threading

Preferred experience

  • Software for financial institutions
  • Cassandra
  • Kafka

Systems & tools

  • GNU C/C++ compiler toolchain
  • Java IDE
  • Subversion, Git
  • JIRA

Qualifications & Training

For this position you require:

  • Being educated to degree standard ideally in computer sciences or similar appropriate education/experience
